Head of Operations
Webfluencer works from Amsterdam and New York for brands such as Rabobank, Philips, Bacardi, Toyota and Balmain Hair. The New York studio is being built and will take up most of our founder's time over the coming years. So in Amsterdam we are looking for one person to take over the daily lead here and grow the Dutch side of the business.

What you take over is an agency that runs: 20 people, clients who come back and every discipline under one roof. Brand positioning, design, development and eCommerce. It is a proven formula: what we design we also build ourselves, clients keep coming back and the work with them keeps growing.
Your job is to keep that running and healthy: the planning, the capacity, the margins and the people. The decisions that come with it genuinely sit with you. Who we hire, how we plan, what a project is allowed to cost and, together with sales, which work we do and which work we do not.
The hard part is not in those systems, it is in the moments where nobody has the answer for you. A project drifting off course. A client asking for more than the planning holds. A colleague in the wrong seat. Those conversations land with you, usually a week earlier than everyone expects.
You are not on your own in this. There is a management team around you with a Head of Design and a Head of Strategy, and the project managers who run the engagements. Every week you sit down with them and with the owner on planning, clients and the calls you should not have to make alone.
On top of that you work with our own AI tooling: for project management, CRO and building websites automatically. Those tools already save hours per project, and you decide where they go next.
Becoming the number one agencyin Europe and the USA.
Amsterdam and New York will have to deliver the same way, across two time zones, for the biggest brands in Europe and the US. A year from now projects are staffed before they begin, the forecast holds, you know a project's margin before it is finished and there is a list of people we want to bring in.
We all sit in our building on the Weteringschans, on the same floor, every day. That is a deliberate choice: the work gets better when people see each other all day. So working from home is not part of this role.
What will you do?
In short, everything between the signature and the launch is yours: people, planning, quality and money. How you go about it is up to you. What we look at: whether clients stay, whether the team holds up and whether the numbers add up.
- Day-to-day leadership of the Amsterdam studio
- Planning and capacity, so a project is staffed before it begins
- Margins, time tracking, post-calculation and invoicing
- Deciding together with sales which work we take on, and making sure a project starts with a scope that holds
- Point of contact for clients when an engagement needs steering
- Recruitment, onboarding and developing the team: goals, feedback and stepping in when someone is in the wrong seat
- Reporting to the founder monthly: revenue, capacity, margin and forecast
- Getting Amsterdam and New York to work the same way
What do you bring?
What you studied tells us little. We look at what you have built and how you held up when it went against you.
- Seven years or more in operations, delivery or general management, at least three of them leading a team of ten or more
- You have seen an organisation grow and helped build it
- Numbers are your tools: capacity, hours, margin and forecast
- You have hired people, watched them grow and also had to let someone go
- You understand enough about design, development and eCommerce to prioritise and push back, without doing the work yourself
- A moved deadline or a tough conversation does not rattle you
- You can decide on half the information, and explain why
- Native-level Dutch, and you speak and write English effortlessly
- You work full-time from our Amsterdam office
Nice to have
- Experience at an agency, studio or other project organisation
- Experience across multiple offices or international collaboration
- Knowledge of Shopify and eCommerce engagements
- Experience with budget, forecast and annual figures together with an accountant
- Experience with contracts, review cycles and employment law
- Experience embedding AI in working processes
How will you grow?
The more New York runs on its own, the more the Netherlands becomes yours. This is meant as a partnership, not as a layer in between.
- A path to full operational end responsibility for the Netherlands
- A say in who we hire and which services we build out
- Room to build your own management layer around you
- Visibility towards clients and partners, including pitches for major brands
What do we offer?
- A salary between €75,000 and €95,000 per year, depending on experience
- A bonus tied to the results in the Netherlands
- Share options, so you share in the value you help build
- A seat next to the founder, with a real say in how we work
- Work for brands with a name, a budget and ambition
- A personal development budget for training, coaching and conferences
- Flexible working hours
- Continuous contact with the New York studio
- Travel allowance and pension scheme
- A beautiful office on the Weteringschans, in the middle of Amsterdam
We are hiring one person for this and we are taking our time. Whoever it is will shape how we work in the Netherlands for years, who comes to work here and how far we get.
Recognise yourself in this? Apply via the form below or email your CV to jobs@webfluencer.nl. Above all, tell us which outfit you helped build and what changed there once you arrived.
